Mo`olelo, Mele, Oli
Hawaiian Studies teaches many songs (mele) and chants (oli) in Hawaiian. Attached are the words in Hawaiian and an English translation so that parents can determine whether they have concerns. We do not teach any religion to our students and we respect all parents' and students' personal beliefs. We do teach about religion in the context of history, for instance by explaining what the Hawaiians of old believed when they recounted their legends and myths (mo`olelo).
